Abstract
Measurements have been made of the excitation function and integral recoil properties of the reaction at incident proton energies from 0.6 to 28 GeV. The integral recoil properties yield values of the average forward momentum transfer. Calculations based on the model of Ericson et al. as modified by Selleri are in good agreement with the excitation function but predict somewhat smaller values for the average forward momentum transfer.
