Rotational Description of States in Closed- and Near-Closed-Shell Nuclei

Abstract
All ground-state bands observed in even-even nuclei, including closed-shell nuclei, are accurately predicted by a two-parameter description based on the cranking model. A hitherto unobserved discontinuity in a plot of vs is also predicted by the model.
