Effect of Glucagon (HGF) on Deposition of Muscle Glycogen

Abstract
The specific activity of muscle and liver glycogen was determined after administration of C14 labeled glucose and insulin or insulin and glucagon to pancreatectomized dogs. There was a significant decrease in glycogen formation of muscle and liver when glucagon was added to the insulin. Glucagon has a significant peripheral action in that it decreased muscle glycogen formed when insulin is given.
