Abstract
A case of bromide intoxication was treated by hemodialy-sis with an artificial kidney. Hemodialysis for 5 hrs. resulted in a rapid lowering of the serum bromide level from 23 m.e.q./ 1to 3.3 m.e.q./l. A lotal of 166 m.e.q. of bromide ion was recovered in the dialysate bath. There was a prompt clinical improvement immediately following dialysis. Keywords
