The Effect of Age on the Ability of Rats to Adapt to Mechanical Trauma

Abstract
Female rats 3 and 18-months-old withstood damage by treatment in a Noble-Collip drum equally well. The young animals survived additional treatments in the drum much better than the older ones. After 4 treatments in 14 days, the young animals could withstand nearly double the trauma dose which killed the older animals.Keywords
