Abstract
The spectrum of the collective excitations of a double heterostructure, both coupled intra- and intersubband plasmon-phonon modes is analyzed. The electronic polarization is treated within the random-phase approximation. The dispersion curves of the collective excitations are calculated and presented in graphical form for various cases. It is shown that the damping of the modes strongly depends on the layer thickness and the concentration of the two-dimensional electron gas. Keywords
