THE EFFECT OF FASTING ON THE BLOOD SUGAR CURVE OF THE EVISCERATED RAT

Abstract
Fasting had a marked effect on the blood sugar conc, and the length of survival of the non-nephrectomized, eviscerated rat. Blood sugar was maintained at a significantly higher level and survival time was twice as long in rats fasted 2 or 4 days as in rats fed up to the time of operation.
