Abstract
Although single injections of progesterone capable of reversing the ergotoxine interference with de-ciduomal development in albino rats failed to prevent the ergot alkaloid from terminating early pregnancy, a course of several injections of greater quantities resulted in 71% protection against termination of pregnancy. Of the animals which were protected against termination, a small number aborted during the onset of the third trimester. Keywords
