Abstract
SUMMARY: The absence of the adrenal gland does not alter the response of the pseudopregnant or pregnant rat to ergotoxine. A single subcutaneous injection of ergotoxine ethanesulphonate interrupts early pregnancy and curtails pseudopregnancy. The disturbance in the oestrogen-progesterone balance, which is induced by ergotoxine, is not mediated through the adrenal. Keywords
