The Preservation of the ‘Grass Juice Factor’ in Silage

Abstract
It was found possible to preserve the ‘grass juice factor’ in forages by ensiling. The A. I. V. and phosphoric acid methods of ensiling were found to give better preservation of the ‘grass juice factor’ than did the molasses method. Milk from cows fed phosphoric acid alfalfa silage was found to be approximately as rich in the ‘grass juice factor’ as milk produced by cows on summer pasture.
