HISTAMINE TOLERANCE IN RATS WITH INTRAMUSCULAR ADRENOCORTICAL TRANSPLANTS

Abstract
Adrenocortical transplants to the dorsal musculature of rats progressively resume their ability to protect the animal against histamine poisoning as measured by the LD50 technic. The results, together with those from earlier investigations, indicate that by the 10th day after operation the transplanted cortical tissue to capable of secreting sufficient hormone to meet the severe requirements of an acute stress in addition to the daily needs of the animal.
