Abstract
The reaction π++dp+p was studied at a center-of-mass pion energy of 118±2 Mev, using scintillation counters and a liquid deuterium target. The angular distribution was given by dσdΩA+cos2θ, with A=0.216±0.033, while the total cross section was 12.09±0.93 mb. The total cross section for the inverse pion production reaction was calculated from detailed balancing as 3.10±0.24 mb. These results are compared with other work.
