Scattering of Alpha Particles byCr52,Cr53, andV51

Abstract
The scattering of various-energy alpha particles by Cr52 has been studied. The spins and parities of most of the Cr52 levels up to 7 MeV were either assigned or confirmed. The reduced transition probabilities B(EI) for several levels were determined with the aid of the Austern-Blair model. Similar measurements with 50-MeV alpha particles on Cr53 and V51 were made and some evidence is considered for the description of Cr53 as a Cr52 core coupled to an odd neutron.
