Prevention by Sodium Salicylate of Arteritis in the Experimental Allergic State

Abstract
Na salicylate was daily injd. subcut. into rabbits in doses of 0.2 g. per kilo of body wt. beginning 8 days prior to injns. of horse serum designed to produce arteritis. The Na salicylate mostly prevented the development of arterial lesions. This effect was thought to be due to the salicylate preventing the antigen from uniting with tissue cells.
