Abstract
By this method 17-hydroxycorticosteroids (17-OH-CS) can be selectively extracted from a chloroform solution by a phenylhydrazine sulfuric acid reagent while the 17-ketosteroids (17-KS) remain in the chloroform from which they can be quantitatively recovered. Reproducibility and recovery experiments show that the values obtained with this method are significant to a limit lower than [plus or minus] 10%. Preliminary attempts at a chroma-tographic partition of plasma steriods are also reported.
